Currumbin Valley Architectural ECO Friendly Home

The land Owners Nick and Issabelle had approached us early in 2012 with a view to Building their dream home .

SEQ worked closely with will Collins Designs (ARCO) to make sure the client was comfortable with the final design before contracts and build costs were finalised .

Construction commenced in October 2012 and was projected to finish in January 2014 .

The house is 850 square meters with a separate garage and home offices .

Main features include 6 bed rooms 5 with ensuits , 3 main living areas with mezzanine library , 13m long wet edge pool with reflection ponds, separate area for parents and guests that is connected by a timber bridge structure . A 190,000 ltr water tank built into the house ,separate art studio , Eco glass in the windows and doors , use of recycled materials, Timber and concrete . Extensive use of rock feature work to the exterior walls .

The site is sloping and has highly reactive red volcanic soil with boulders that ranged from football size to some that were as big as a small car . The rocks were saved and later used in retaining walls and features around the home .

In July 2014 we were presented the Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards for Individual Home over $2 million and Best Bathroom. Single level dual residence with separate detached 2 storey garage and offices. Completed October 2013.
